Pinchas Steinberg has just returned from a hugely successful concerts with the Cleveland Orchestra and Nikolaj Znaider. He will come back to Cleveland in April to reprise the program in Miami. In March Mr. Steinberg will be again in Italy with his beloved Santa Cecilia's Orchestra conducting Beethoven's only oratorio, now rarely performed, Christus am Ölberge (Christ on the Mount of Olives) for soli, chorus and orchestra, and the Symphony n. 2 by Schumann.

Pinchas Steinberg leads the Cleveland Orchestra on February 12, 13, 14 and 15 Pinchas Steinberg will conduct the Cleveland Orchestra in four concerts with a program juxtaposing the works of Piotr I. Tchaikovsky and Johannes Brahms. Mr. Steinberg leads the Cleveland Orchestra featuring Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 and is joined by violinist Nikolaj Znaider for the Brahms Violin Concerto. Soon after his last performance of Andrea Chenier in Toulouse (see last reviews) Mr. Steinberg flew to the US to start the rehearsals. The Cleveland Orchestra has forged a close working relationship with Pinchas Steinberg; he is a beloved guest conductor and since 2001 returns to Cleveland on a regular basis.
JANUARY 2009
After opening the opera season last October, Mr. Steinberg returns this month to Theatre du Capitole in Toulouse to conduct a new production of Giordano’s opera Andrea Chenier. Soon after the last performance on February 3, he flies to the US where he will conduct the Cleveland Orchestra on February 12, 13, 14, and 15. The program includes Tchaikovsky's Symphony n. 4 and Brahms Violin Concerto with Nikolaj Znaider.
